NATIONWIDE ARTISTIC RESPONSES TO THE SEPTEMBER 11 TRAGEDY AND ITS AFTERMATH>
Americans for the Arts has created Arts Healing America, an online clearinghouse of information on arts and cultural communities affected by September 11. Find out how to give aid to cultural organizations, share your community's events, read reflections by artists and arts curators on the disaster, and learn 10 Ways to Promote Healing, Civic Dialogue and Community Building.
Artists Network of Refuse and Resist!: A group of artists and arts presenters who create and promote art that contributes to a culture of resistance. The website includes statements by artists in response to September 11, related arts events and news, and information about art censorship cases.
The Healing Power of the Arts: This website was originally created for The Colorado Council on the Arts in the aftermath of the Columbine High School tragedy. In the aftermath of the events of September 11, the website has expanded to explore artistic responses to the WTC tragedy.
Artswire.org: New York Foundation for the Arts weekly e-newsletter has consistently covered New York artists' responses to Sept. 11 and its aftermath.
911--The September 11 Project: Cultural Intervention in Civic Society opens avenues of discussion related to the September 11 tragedy and encourages a community of social concern through its listing of resources, images, demonstrations, exhibitions, articles and discussion boards. The September 11 Project held a town meeting in New York on October 1, and a transcript of the presentations are presented here. You can also sign up for 911, The September 11 Project's email list.
