Free Speech and Democracy Film Contest

NCAC is sponsoring a national contest for young filmmakers on the theme of Free Speech and Democracy. The goal of the contest is to showcase the creative work of young people and to promote awareness of the basic principles of freedom.

To enter, contestants must be 19 or younger, and submit a video no longer than 4 minutes by October 1, 2004. Films will be judged by renowned writers, playwrights, and film directors who are longtime supporters of NCAC, such as Judy Blume and Tony Kushner. The top three winners will receive prizes of $1,000, $500, and $250 and a trip to New York City for a gala event at the Rubin Museum of Art on Tuesday, November 16.
