The File Room The File Room (www.thefileroom.org) is an interactive archive documenting cases of censorship in a variety of media. It is a project initiated by Spanish artist Antoni Muntadas in 1994 at the Randolph Street Gallery in Chicago, and, since 2000, hosted and maintained online by NCAC. The archive is available as a resource for journalists, art educators, researchers, artists, and free expression advocates for research and to back up arguments about the principal actors, the reasons, and geographic distribution of attempts to put limits on free expression. NCAC constantly updates the site to include new cases. It is you, the participant, who will continue the dialogue on censorship by offering for worldwide exposure censorious actions that have affected you, your colleagues, and others in your community or on other continents.
