NCAC, American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression and the Center for Democracy and Technology have sent a letter to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie calling on him to veto Senate Bill 2715, which would mandate the NJ Department of Education to publish cherry-picked "research" to parents on the effects of "violent media", especially video games. NCAC Executive Director Joan Bertin previously wrote an op-ed on this matter for the Times of Trenton describing how the Supreme Court, and every other U.S. Court, has found the existing body of research on media effects inconclusive. And so we now call on Governor Christie to veto a potential state-sponsored disinformation campaign.
