The Annual Celebration of Free Speech & Its Defenders is the National Coalition Against Censorship’s major fundraising event of the year to support First Amendment rights and free speech projects.
The NCAC is the only national organization devoted exclusively to defending freedom of thought, inquiry and expression. Its coalition of more than 50 national non-profits is the oldest civil liberties coalition in the United States and includes religious, artistic, professional, educational, labor and civil liberties groups dedicated to the protection of First Amendment rights and democratic values. NCAC works with coalition partners to educate the public and lawmakers about free speech rights and directly assists writers, readers, students, teachers, librarians, artists, and others involved in censorship disputes.
