NCAC has lost two dear friends who cared deeply for the First Amendment.
Sara Blackburn, a writer and editor died in October in New York City. As a member of NCAC’s Working Group on Women, Censorship and Pornography she contributed innovative and sound counsel. Sara was also active in the PEN-American Center.
Vera List, who dedicated her life to the arts, died in October in Connecticut. She was a collector of modern sculpture and paintings, and an advocate of free expression. Vera worked with many groups like NCAC, the New Museum, and the New School University in support of art-related activities.
