“Freedom” tells the story of three students fighting for controversial issues at their school. The contentious issues are diversity, sexuality, and dress code.
Though they are encouraged to speak their minds, the administration basically ignores them when they bring their solutions to the table. The students then conclude that the only way for their voices to be heard is if they ban together as one to encourage a change in freedom.
Through this video, I wanted to make clear the issues of free speech in schools nationwide. Sometimes I feel that students in high school become hindered by the administration’s negative reactions to their ideas of change. I believe that if us students want change in free speech at school, the only way to get the administration to hear our voices is to unite together as one. My music video “Freedom” represents this exact idea.
