Does the representation of atrocity provoke dissent, engender compassion, or
merely elicit a momentary shudder before it is forgotten? Inspired by Susan
Sontag’s Regarding the Pain of Others, the panelists will examine the impact
of horrific images on our contemporary world, and how and when they should
be used.
