Does free expression exist in schools? I decided to film a documentary addressing Constitutional rights and an example of free expression used in schools from history. Such an educational approach seemed fitting for the content of the video.
All scenes are filmed in or near the high school I am currently attending, and everyone participating in the project was either a student or a professor. This kept the theme of free expression in schools more authentic.
Mr. Catalinich, my school’s most popular United States History professor, spends a large portion of the end of the school year covering instances in the U.S. Justice System where the rights of students were questioned and affirmed. Inevitably, his commentary is relevant and accurate.
Furthermore, the responses from students were equally important, because the question around which the video revolves is about them.
