NCAC – 30 Years of Defending Freedom

NCAC will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Tuesday, November 16th at the exciting new Rubin Museum of Art in New York City which houses the largest collection of Himalayan art on display in the Western world.

Chip Gibson, President of Random House Children’s Books, is NCAC’s 30th Anniversary Chair and Master of Ceremonies. Joel Hollander, President of Infinity Broadcasting, will be honored for corporate leadership in support of free expression. Infinity has vigorously resisted governmental efforts to expand the definition of broadcast "indecency" by challenging the constitutionality of the Federal Communications Commission’s actions. Random House Children’s Books will also receive honors for public education on the First Amendment, for its First Amendment First Aid Kit.

The winners of NCAC’s Democracy and Free Expression Film Contest will be announced and winning films will be screened. Also on hand will be judges of the contest: author Judy Blume, playwright Tony Kushner, artist Dread Scott, curator Nina Felshin, and filmmakers Larry Blume, Ric Burns, Dan Polin, and Alex Rivera.
