The National Coalition Against Censorship (NCAC) has shared a letter with the School Board of Broward County Public Schools in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, concerning a potential violation of district policy and the improper temporary removal of Erika Moen’s and Matthew Nolan’s book Let’s Talk About It: The Teen’s Guide to Sex, Relationships, and Being a Human from library shelves.
After Let’s Talk About It received a formal challenge, the district removed the book while under review. However, district policy requires that the district “keep the challenged material on the shelf/available during the reconsideration process.”
Therefore, NCAC urges the district to follow its policy and keep Let’s Talk About It in the library until the reconsideration process has run its course.
