San Francisco's mass transit system, known as the BART, has faced widespread criticism for turning off mobile phone and Internet services provided within the subway to disrupt planned protests of a police shooting. Take action now by signing the ACLU of Nothern California petition to BART that they will not cut off phone and Internet services with the intent of suppressing speech in the future.

The action has been compared to the actions of Hosni Mubarak in Egypt and may be the first time a civic authority in the US has restricted Internet access in response to political dissent.
