I’m All for Free Speech But…
I think that freedom of speech is one of the best freedoms we have here in the USA, however when people choose to abuse this freedom is when I regret having it. I wanted to make this short film because sometimes we as teenagers say things without thinking about the affect it will have on that person. If people were more aware on the impact of what we say on other people’s lives I am positive that they would think twice before saying it. I wanted to make this video simple but effective. I made it using Mac’s program iMovie, and getting pictures off of Google to match what was being said. I wanted to make this video in memory of the recent gay suicides because hearing their stories was truly touching. I had goose bumps while I read each one of their stories. I hope this will also make people more aware of gay bullying which has been the most violent recently. Also if anyone wants to find ways to stop bullying in your area just simply do random acts of kindness it really does help. I didn’t really have anyone help me with this, because it was so easy it just felt natural like this is what I was supposed to be doing. I loved making this video it defiantly made me more aware about a lot of things and I hope it will make other people too. I ended the movie by simply putting; “do you know what effect your words has on others?”
