When it comes to the Internet, many libraries are apparently not following the traditional and important principles of the American Library Association on patron access. For example, the Great Neck Public Library in Long Island, NY, expected by many to be particularly enlightened, had adopted new policy placing restrictions on young people and on general "offensiveness." (It may be responding to one patron’s pressing of First Amendment considerations.) Check your own library!
