My experimental piece explores the mental troubles faced with drug addiction. Drugs are a major problem and our community and schools but such a video (like this) would not be show it schools because its too “suggestive”. Creativity like this showed be praised and used in the class room as a new method of reaching out to the students.
My creative process started once i heard this song. I instantly fell in love with it. I wanted to show the different stages an addictive can go through but only portrayed with one actor (which is me). I think is way more effective for the audience to see how the mental state of the this character changes throughout this piece.
In the end, I want views to take away this is that don’t be scared to be extreme. Take you work there, even though you may feel people wont understand your work. Creativity and voice goes a long way.
