Scalia, Religion and the Constitution

Rob Boston of Americans United for Separation of Church & State writes on one aspect of Antonin Scalia's legacy:

Scalia was a big fan of the idea that government should be able to “honor” our traditions by endorsing religion in a general way. Student T-Shirt Self Expression

ACLU of Northern California wins a case for student free expression:

the Manteca Unified School District voted to update the dress code as part of a settlement with the ACLU of Northern California, which sued two Sierra High School officials on behalf of a lesbian student in October 2015. Eleventh-grader Taylor Victor was singled out, chastised, and censored after wearing a shirt to school identifying herself as a proud member of the LGBT community. The dress code has been updated district-wide to make it clear that students can express their own identity and their support for other students’ identities – including identities of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and other protected groups.
